BridgeStreet Launches 'Mode Aparthotel' Serviced Apartment Brand
BridgeStreet Global Hospitality has announced the launch of a new serviced apartment brand.
Mode Aparthotel by BridgeStreet aims to resolve changing travel trends by retrofitting existing buildings into apartments equipped with 24-hour front desk support.
"Retrofitting existing buildings alleviates the pressures of minimal building space in city centers," BridgeStreet's Vice President of Development Paul Rands said in a statement. "This strategy is the underpinning for Mode, with the long-term target of 20 to 30 Mode by BridgeStreet properties open or in active development within four years across the Americas and EMEA."
BridgeStreet also revealed that it's already in agreement with CGI Strategies to develop between five and 10 Mode Aparthotel properties in the U.S., with planned locations in Boston, New York and Chicago, among other destinations.
In a statement, CGI founder and CEO Gidi Cohen said Mode Aparthotel can fill a gap in the industry. "These apartments give travelers more than a traditional hotel or extended stay apartment, they have the best of both in great communities."

The brand's first location in Washington, D.C. will feature 46 apartments accompanied by a bar and restaurant, fitness facilities and a rooftop lounge. "We took a C-rated building in an A+ location and we are creating an A+ building," said developer Will Lansing.
Meanwhile, the first overseas Mode Aparthotel property is slated to open in Paris later this year.
"We are here to be a part of the community, work with the local vendors and recommend the best establishments," BridgeStreet Global Hospitality president and CEO Sean Worker said in a statement. "Each Mode building will offer a bespoke, unparalleled experience to our guests by providing them with high design and comfort."
BridgeStreet currently operates a tiered system of six serviced apartment brands boasting more than 50,000 apartments spread across 60 different countries.
