MGM Resorts International has signed a long-term agreement with singer-songwriter Bruno Mars and announced Monday that the four-time Grammy Award winner will perform at two of the companies' newest entertainment venues later this year.
Mars will headline one of the first concerts at The Theater inside MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland on Dec. 27. The $1.4 billion resort is scheduled to open Dec. 8.
The Theater, which will host concerts, comedy shows, boxing matches and UFC fights, among other events down the road, can accommodate up to 3,000 guests for reserved-seating events and up to 4,000 for general admission shows.
After making his MGM National Harbor debut, Mars will head west to Las Vegas, where he'll perform back-to-back concerts at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino's new Park Theater on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31.
Mars will return for additional performances at Park Theater on March 11 and March 12, 2017.
While the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino opened more than 20 years ago, the new 5,300-seat Park Theater is scheduled to open this December and is one of the highlights of the $450 million makeover that will transform the resort into Park MGM by the end of 2018.
"Bruno is among the most talented performers in the world and we are excited to start a long-term relationship with him across our industry-leading portfolio of entertainment venues," said MGM Resorts International President Bill Hornbuckle in a statement. "There is no stronger launching pad for a new venue than for Bruno Mars to be among the first to grace its stage, and we get to do it twice, an amazing beginning to a multi-year partnership."
Tickets for all five of Mars' performances will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. ET. However, M life Rewards members will have access to a private presale from Tuesday to Thursday.
Tickets for the Dec. 27 show at MGM National Harbor range from $150 to $395, while tickets for the four shows at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino range from $99.50 to $550.
