Imagine your most memorable travel experience. Easy enough.
Now write it down and you could win a free night's stay at a one-of-a-kind hotel or resort.
Stash Hotel Rewards, which allows members to earn points for stays at select independent hotels by booking directly, has launched its first annual travel writing competition this winter, called "Travel Less Ordinary." Travelers looking to participate can write up to 500 words on their most unforgettable trip for a chance to win thousands of Stash points.
Submissions will be judged based on how compelling and creative they are, with three total winners being selected.
The first place prize winner will receive 20,000 Stash points, while the second and third place finishers will each receive 15,000 Stash points. The winning entries will also be published to the Stash blog as well as its newsletter to members.
Stash points can be put toward free stays. For example, travelers currently only need about 6,000 points to earn a free night's stay at Vermont's Essex Resort and Spa. However values will vary depending on room rates at the time of redemption.
Nonetheless points can be redeemed at more than 165 independent hotels across the U.S., Caribbean, and Panama.
The entry period began on January 12, 2016 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on February 15, 2016. Travel Less Ordinary competition winners will be notified via email no later than March 18, 2016.
