The digital nomad is making waves in the hotel industry and further blurring the line between business and pleasure. A new report on CNN highlights how the office has transformed from a cubicle to wherever workers have Wi-Fi access and how some hotels have distinguished themselves in this new work environment.
"By 2022, the global mobile workforce is expected to grow from 1.45 billion in 2016 to 1.87 billion, accounting for 42.5 percent of the worldwide workforce," writes Kate Springer.
For those spearheading the move to digital nomad-ness, you may run into them at a hotel such as the Volkshotel in Amsterdam.
'Built in a former newspaper building from the 1960s, the 172-room Volkshotel emerged from extensive renovations to welcome a new generation of nomadic creatives," notes Springer.
For creatives, the hotel's abuzz with activity 24 hours a day, features "hot desks" and rooms with window-seat work nooks.

In San Francisco, Hotel Zetta has found a business-friendly niche.
"In the lobby's S&R Lounge, you'll find a creative space with communal tables for work, a cocktail bar, sofas, videos games, a pool table, meeting rooms, a lineup of Mac computers and a Plinko game wall," says Springer.
Get work done in Hong Kong at the Ovolo Southside or the Ovolo NoHo with the Mojo Nomad program.
"Debuted at Ovolo Southside and Ovolo NoHo - both in Hong Kong - the program enables budding entrepreneurs to stay for days, weeks or months at a time," says Springer.
