Hurricanes often have interesting and unique names, and Breezes Resort & Spa in the Bahamas is offering a $100 discount to all guests whose names appear on the 2015 National Hurricane Center list of storms.
With the height of hurricane season arriving, travelers who book and stay five or more nights at Breezes Resort by Nov. 30—and happen to share a name of a hurricane from this year—will be eligible to receive the $100 discount.
The names included on the list are as follows (names in parenthesis are also accepted); Ana, Bill (William), Claudette, Danny (Daniel), Erika, Fred (Frederick), Grace, Henri, Ida, Joaquin, Kate (Katherine), Larry (Lawrence), Mindy, Nicholas, Odette, Peter, Rose, Sam (Samuel, Samantha), Teresa, Victor and Wanda.
The Caribbean is viewed as off-limits by some tourists during the hurricane season, but Breezes Resort is attempting to change that notion. To combat the fears associated with visiting during this time of year, the resort is offering guests a Hurricane Guarantee.
In the event that a hurricane does make landfall during your stay, Breezes will give guests a reimbursement for the total value of disrupted nights in addition to a voucher for the same number of disrupted nights for use during the same month the following year.
On the other hand, if a storm disrupts your travel to the resort, Breezes offers a complimentary extension for the same number of nights or the option to stay for fewer nights and receive a voucher for future travel equal to the interrupted portion.
While the $100 discount does not work when booking online, eligible purchases can be made by calling 1-877-BREEZES (273-3937).
