Eat Your Drink Heads to the Montage Kapalua Bay

Next week, the unique Eat Your Drink event will take place at the Montage Kapalua Bay hotel in Maui. The series of events will take place over two days, April 15-16, and showcase the unique vision of nationally renowned cocktail chef Matthew Biancaniello.

“My ‘eat your drink’ philosophy is part practical, part art and all organic,” says Biancaniello. “Creations are based off of farm-fresh and seasonal ingredients and unlikely pairings. Fresh ingredients and my hunger for experimentation combine as my creativity sets loose, each drink an opportunity to introduce a new way of tasting to cocktail consumption.”

Biancaniello is a self-taught mixologist who has been featured in InStyle, Imbibe, Bon Appetit, Saveur, the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and more. He is bringing his Eat Your Drink events to Maui for the first time to give guests a taste of his handcrafted and seasonal surprising creations firsthand.

Biancaniello is a culinary artist who likes to get his hands dirty. He has a palate that includes homemade syrups and ingredients that are sourced from local farmers’ markets. Biancaniello even has his own bee colony and forages the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles for unique aromatics. Alcoholic ice creams are his specialty, with his signature dessert including sea urchin and squid ink.

Events at the Montage

At the Montage Kapalua Bay, Biancaniello will hold two events presented in part by Maui’s OCEAN Organic Vodka and Edible Hawaiian Islands.

On Wednesday, April 15 from 5 p.m.  to 8 p.m., Biancaniello will meet and greet guests during Drink Up at Cane & Canoe, an interactive event where he will whip up a special drink menu of uniquely crafted cocktails to pair with the Cane & Canoe’s bar menu. Limited seating is available.

On Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m., Matthew will join Cane & Canoe’s Chef Riko Bartolome for a Collaborative Chef Dinner. The duo will create a special food and drink pairing menu featuring innovative interpretations and using locally sourced products. This event also has limited seating and the price is $95 per person.
