G6 Hospitality has elevated the bar to new heights this year following a record year of growth in 2015.
The Dallas-based hotel company operating the Motel 6 and Studio 6 economy brands expanded by 26 percent last year compared to the end of 2014.
The company also achieved an impressive milestone last year, opening its 1,300th location. In all, G6 Hospitality opened 141 new properties in 2015, 121 of which were Motel 6 properties in the U.S. With 20 Studio 6 properties also opening in Canada, the openings represented an added room count of nearly 122,000.
2015 also saw the company take significant steps toward expansion into Latin America and South America.
"We are very excited to report positive numbers across all key growth metrics for 2015, solidifying our position as the uncontested leader in the economy segment," G6 Hospitality president and CEO Jim Amorosia said in a statement accompanying Wednesday's announcement. "Additionally, we are pleased to have accomplished a significant milestone with our property growth, renovation progression of our corporate locations, further expansion of our new digital ecosystem, and the hiring of over 280 veterans and military spouses as part of our enterprise goals."
"This was a fantastic year for our brands, and we look forward to continue this momentum into 2016 as we take our brands to the next level."
For the year ahead, the company said it's anticipating approximately 200 new signings and 175 new openings. The company will also debut in Mexico this year, with the opening of Estudio 6 properties in Puerto Vallarta and Salamanca by mid-year.
