An Ohio man is suing a Chicago hotel months after he claims he was bitten more than 100 times by bed bugs in not one, but two different rooms.

Citing the lawsuit filed late last month, NBCChicago.com reported Allen Brown stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Chicago Downtown/River North on E. Hubbard Street back on Aug. 16 when he woke up to discover he had been bitten multiple times by bed bugs.

Despite informing the hotel staff, who moved him to a different room, the lawsuit states that Brown received fresh bug bites in the new room.

"We counted about 130 total bites on my body," said Brown. "When you wake up to a bed bug bite, it digests your blood immediately. When I woke up there was blood all over the sheets. There was blood on me."

Brown, who claims the incident has left him physically and mentally scarred, said his hands and feet were swollen and he couldn't even shower because of the pain. "Every little tickle. Every time the sheets move, you don't know," added Brown. "I still have scars on my hands and my arms and my feet."

Brown is seeking $50,000 in addition to court costs and attorney fees in the suit, which was brought against the Courtyard Management Corporation and Marriott Hotel Services, Inc. The suit accuses the companies of having rented rooms to guests with knowledge that they were infested with bed bugs, failing to perform reasonable inspections of its rooms and failing to provide appropriate pest control services.

Interestingly, Brown's lawsuit was filed just days before pest control company Orkin revealed its Top 50 Bed Bug Cities list based on the number of residential and commercial bed bug treatments performed between December 1, 2015 and November 30, 2016.

For the first time in five years, Chicago dropped from the No. 1 spot, falling two places to third behind Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
