Hard Rock Hotel San Diego Helps Guests Overcome El Nino
With El Nino-induced storms pummeling Southern California with rain showers this January, some of the region's hotels are getting creative in an effort to ensure guests still come away with a positive experience in spite of the unexpected conditions.
The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego has done just that through its "Here Comes the Rain Again" program, which includes a handful of perks offered to guests on rainy days through March 30.
The purpose of the program is to assist guests in enjoying themselves even when the weather doesn't cooperate. Therefore, the program includes complimentary rain ponchos and umbrellas for guests.
But with heavy rainfall at times causing flooding and conditions too poor for venturing outdoors and even closing popular tourist attractions in some cases, guests can also stay put and attempt to wash away the uninvited weather with a complimentary hot toddy.
Better yet, the complimentary offerings extend to the hotel's Gimme Shelter Lounge. There, rainy day guests can request free coffee and hot chocolate. The lounge also includes games, movies, concert performances and other events that guests can take in free of charge.
The rainy day lounge experience culminates with a "Shower Hour" that includes various drink specials during downpours.
The Here Comes the Rain Again program is available to all hotel guests at no additional charge.
Since many travelers flock to Southern California in the winter for the sunshine and warmth their hometown is lacking, the current conditions across the region are certain to spoil some trips. Fortunately, guests passing through the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego will be able to capitalize on the unwelcome rain showers.
