Hilton Worldwide is rolling out personal travel guides through its Hilton HHonors app.
Known as the Fun Finder, the new feature is currently available at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu and the Hilton Anatole in Dallas and relies on Wi-Fi, GPS and beacon technology to alert users to upcoming events and special offers at their property based on their preferences.
The recommendations are based on not only a guest's arrival and departure information, but pre-arrival survey responses, the current time and their location in the hotel or resort as well.
For example, a honeymooning couple staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort using the HHonors app might be alerted to a discounted couples massage coming available later in the day, while a traveling family may receive a schedule of the resort's upcoming children activities.

In addition to providing information on activities and special offers, the feature will also use GPS technology to lead HHonors members to their next destination, whether it's the spa, bar or pool.
Hilton's vice president of Digital Product Innovation Joshua Sloser called the new feature "a huge leap forward for the hotel industry."
"We're artfully blending technology with exceptional experiences in a way that gives travelers a smarter, more personalized stay," added Sloser.
According to Hilton's senior director of Mobile Products Rich DiStefano, "Fun Finder will also transform how Hilton hotels manage themselves, as it provides real-time insights on everything from where additional Team Members are needed to what time of day guests are most interested in fitness classes."
