Hilton Worldwide and ride-hailing service Uber have expanded their partnership in a move poised to make travel simpler and easier for Hilton HHonors members.
Hilton's loyalty program members will now be able to request an Uber ride via the HHonors app while Uber riders can view their upcoming Hilton hotel stay information and check in from the app.
The Uber app pre-sets the traveler's hotel as the recommended destination when their room reservation time is nearing. Then on the way to the hotel, guests are guided from the Uber app to the HHonors app to check in, select their room and request a Digital Key.
"By further integrating our mobile apps, we're simplifying the steps it takes for our Hilton HHonors members to obtain the quick information they seek, ultimately providing them with a better experience," Hilton Worldwide's Senior Director of Mobile Products Rich DiStefano said in a statement.
The only requirement for guests to access the new integrated features is that they download both the Hilton HHonors app and the Uber app and have a hotel reservation under their HHonors account.
The two companies first entered into a partnership back in September 2015 with the launch of Local Scene and Ride Reminder. Both digital features were a hit with more than 250,000 travelers choosing to use them.
"Following the success of Local Scene and Ride Reminder, we are taking an additional step forward in our integration by offering guests access to their stay details while they are in an Uber," said Uber's Head of Travel Partnerships Jonathan DiOrio in a statement.
