It’s only a few short weeks until Election Day, and many travelers this fall might find themselves either wishing to escape the entire political buzz — in fact, some hotels outside the U.S. are offering election escape packages. Other travelers or political junkies might otherwise be anticipating that whatever happens in November, we’ll have a new President in January. A handful of hotels around the country are offering packages in celebration of both, and that’s our weekend getaway update for this week.
Celebrate our 45th President with Kimpton Taconic
The identity of our 45th President remains to be seen, but the Kimpton Taconic in Manchester, Vermont is offering 45 percent off through Nov. 13 for travelers feeling Presidential and in need of a getaway.
Enjoy hiking with locally crafted walking sticks, biking through the colonial New England village of Manchester, or hole up in the hotel with an adult coloring book and a board game. For those wishing to escape the election buzz, they’ll take custody of your phone and remove the TV remote or entire television from your room upon request.
Presidential hopefuls and election observers alike can call the hotel directly to book.

For those looking to luxuriate, the Lodge at Sea Island in Georgia is offering a Presidential Package which includes a two-night stay, a round of golf for two (golf being a popular pastime among Presidents) a welcome cocktail based on your party affiliation and a cryotherapy session for two.
Several of the oaks on the property have been planted by past presidents, who undoubtedly enjoyed their time at the intimate 40-room resort with heritage furnishings and round-the-clock butler service.
Package rates start at $1,300 for two, are subject to availability, and are valid through Nov. 23 for guests calling directly to book.

Feeling overwhelmed by the news coverage? Boston’s Hotel Commonwealth will remove the election coverage sections from your daily paper and block the news channels in your guest room. You can also choose to upgrade to a Reading Suite, which comes with a curated collection of titles signed by authors that have stayed in the hotel, and a cozy reading nook.
Baseball fans can relax knowing the hotel is the official hotel of the Boston Red Sox, and several of the hotel’s rooms overlook Fenway Park. Those not overlooking the park have views of Kenmore Square.
Available for stays from Nov. 3-13; package rates start at $359. Call the hotel directly to book.
Whether you’re fatigued from all the election coverage or can’t get enough polling data, don’t forget to vote on Election Day, Nov. 8.
