Get in touch with your inner child without heading to a therapist’s couch.

In an amenity that can be as colorful or as detailed as one wants to make it, Morgans Hotel Group has paired with Mindfulness Everywhere to create a wellness and mindfulness initiative which includes an exclusive adult coloring book by illustrator Peter Arkle meant to create maximum relaxation and de-stress even the most antsy of guests.

To put it mildly, coloring is making a comeback.

According to The Washington Post, 12 million adult coloring books were sold in the United States in 2015. Their benefits are being touted by traditional medical doctors and nontraditional wellness experts alike, potentially helping both stress and anxiety as well as helping strengthen cognitive ability and stave off cognitive decline.

Morgans wellness programming also extends to various other initiatives around their properties, but they’re not the only ones getting into the coloring game.

The Four Seasons in Austin, Texas has developed a business/meetings offering called “The Imagination Station” centered around the idea of creativity. Although any guest can request the various coloring pages they offer, the initiative is meant to spark creativity and team-building among the normally buttoned-up business guests through coloring. The option is entirely complimentary both for meetings and for casual guests looking to pass the time with Texas-themed coloring.

The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto has taken things even one step further with “TGIF Adult Coloring,” a regular event spun off of what had been planned as a one-time workshop. Drinks, music and fun coloring pages served alongside all the colorful supplies one could ever need?

It’s just one more way hotels and resorts are making sure guests are able to breathe a little bit easier when they’re getting away from it all.
