Hyatt Centric Piloting Meal Delivery Program with GrubHub
Hyatt Hotels' new Hyatt Centric brand is seeking to provide guests with more options when ordering food from their hotel room.
HotelsMag.com reported that Hyatt Centric is teaming up with mobile food-ordering company GrubHub to pilot a new meal delivery program.
The pilot kicked off Monday at three Hyatt Centric properties in Miami, Florida; Long Beach, California and Park City, Utah with Chicago set to join the program soon.
Over the course of the pilot, guests at the participating hotels will be able to order food from the front desk or from the Hyatt page on the GrubHub app from their mobile device. The cost of the meal will simply be added to their room and the food will be delivered to their door by hotel staff after it arrives at the front desk.
Guests will be able to order from the restaurant of their choice but will also have access to an in-room menu featuring GrubHub recommendations as well as hotel staff picks if they aren't sure to what to get.

The partnership with GrubHub, which is also headquartered in Chicago, represents the latest effort to build on Hyatt Centric's "Restaurant To Go" concept, which is highlighted by round-the-clock Express Menus.
As with any pilot program, the new partnership's initial level of success is likely to determine whether the unique offering is expanded to other Hyatt Centric properties around the country.
But based on data compiled by GrubHub — popularity of hotel takeout orders climbed 125 percent from 2011 to 2014 — it's clear that there's a demand among hotel guests for food delivery.
Launched early last year, Hyatt Centric is Hyatt's new full service lifestyle brand designed for both leisure and business travelers.
