Hyatt Gold Passport Will Be Unavailable During Upcoming System Maintenance
Hyatt Hotels' guest loyalty program Hyatt Gold Passport will be unavailable to members for several days this month while it undergoes system maintenance.
It's unknown what changes if any will be made during the maintenance period.
"We know how important it is to have up-to-date Hyatt Gold Passport account information. So, we wanted to let you know that from December 15 to December 18, 2015 we will be undergoing system maintenance and your account information will not be accessible during this time," Hyatt said in an email to Gold Passport members.
While members will certainly be affected by the outage, Hyatt said they will still be able to earn points and stay/night credit toward tier status, earn points for dining and spa services and book paid reservations during the system maintenance period.
However during this period members will not be able to access their account information, including point balance and promotional awards.
What's more, they'll be unable to redeem new promotional awards or points for free nights, room upgrades, or miles, nor can they purchase or combine points during this period.
Points earned over the next couple of weeks will also be posted on a delay, so customers shouldn't expect to see any changes until after Christmas.
"Any account activity accrued after December 12, 2015 will not be reflected on your account until the week of December 28, 2015. You can be assured that any points earned during this time will be credited to your account," the company added. "We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience."
Hyatt concluded the message by encouraging members to plan and book travel as soon as possible to avoid any account disruptions.
The holidays are a hectic time for travel and with many often waiting until the last minute to book hotel rooms, it remains to be seen how much of an impact the timing of Hyatt Gold Passport's system maintenance will have on program members.
