Disney is constantly brainstorming new ways to enhance the experience for guests at its amusement parks and hotels around the globe.
The company's latest effort comes in the form of an interactive projector capable of bringing an on-screen experience to your hotel room.
The Orlando Business Journal reported Disney received a patent last month for the Image Projecting Light Bulb. The device can be inserted into lamps or ceiling fixtures to project animated images throughout a room.
"The goal of the projector with its camera and audio attachments of the display systems described herein is to allow a room, where ever the room is located, to become as immersive as any screen environment or even more so," the patent states.
Disney has already rolled out projector night lights. However the new patent would open the door for moving images and audio designed to create a more immersive experience for guests.
According to the Journal, the patent documents indicate that the technology could potentially be implemented at Disney's amusement parks or hotel lobbies. Nonetheless it's likely to wind up inside of hotel rooms where guests would be able to take part in a personalized experience.
That's because the patent also mentions a tracking camera capable of remembering a user's face and adjusting the imagery based on their individual settings.
Currently, there's no timetable on when the technology could be implemented into Disney's hotel rooms, but there's no doubt guests will be waiting eagerly.
