We've heard of sipping champagne from a woman's shoe, but creating cocktails inspired by shoes is something altogether different-and we like it.
Thanks to Hong Kong's world-class mixologist Lewis Tsang, a fourth-generation member of a winemaking family, The Lounge & Bar at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, will serve two fashion-worthy creations throughout the month of September. "His & Her" cocktails celebrate the designs of Jimmy Choo's Fall/Winter 2014 Men's and Women's Shoe Collections.
If the designer's name rings a bell, you might recall a scene from season three of "Sex and the City" when Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) misses the Staten Island ferry because she accidentally slips out of her shoe Cinderlla-style and yells out, "Wait, I lost my Choo!" Yes, we're talking about that Choo.

The "His" drink, which Tsang created to reflect the bold masculinity of the men's line, is aptly named Leather Revolution.
"Many people's first impression of Jimmy Choo is of strong women in towering heels with stylish handbags," says Tsang. "I, on the other hand, am intrigued by the rich heritage of the Jimmy Choo man: his innate confidence and rock-and-roll style, exemplified by The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr., and cheeky sense of humor."
With this in mind, and considering the warm brown leathers used to design the shoes, Tsang combined French herbal liqueur with a smoky 18-year-old Islay single malt whisky to create an exquisite blend of cigar and leather flavorings. The mixture is shaken, not stirred, and a dash of Italian vermouth is added for a touch of bitter sweetness, resulting in a smooth, silky finish.
For "Her," Tsang again thought of the fall line's colors, but this time inspiration came by way of the women's dark orchid tones. Thus, the vodka-based Cotton Berry Cloud was born.
"I already had a martini glass in mind when creating the 'Her' drink; it reminds me of the modern design and silhouette of a sexy Jimmy Choo high heel," says Tsang.

While the martini glass adds a nice touch of elegance, the concoction's most stunning display is a fluffy pink cotton-candy topper, upon which sits a golden heel, that delicately rests above a frozen raspberry blend with vodka, elderflower liqueur and a hint of fresh lime juice.
"Looking outside of these windows from the highest hotel in the world, I have always dreamed of walking in the clouds," says Tsang, whose creative imagination is apparent in these cocktails. It seems he's thought of everything, down to the Jimmy Choo glassware and a fusion of varied aromas and tastes.
Subtle floral and honey flavors arouse the senses in the Cotton Berry Cloud, which can easily evoke the kind of romantic sensibility Carrie Bradshaw might have reveled in, if she had ever made it to Hong Kong.
One can only imagine Miss Bradshaw gracefully walking up to the modern lounge bar in a pair of orchid suede and patent leather Kayomi-style Jimmy Choo pumps, fall 2014 collection of course, and asking the bartender to make sure he adds the xiao Choo on top of the cotton candy-if only.
