Animals are great for reducing stress. (At least the soft and cuddly ones, anyway.)
Therefore, it should come as little surprise that ultra pet-friendly hotel chain Kimpton is bringing homeless dogs into its hotels in hopes of benefiting both guests and canines alike.
According to HotelsMag.com, the four-star Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia has teamed up with local shelter Saved Me as part of the Palomar Pet Pals program to help rescue dogs find a forever home, while at the same time assisting business travelers in chilling out.
The hotel recently extended the program, offering it to groups holding meetings at the hotel.
For a $100 fee, all of which goes directly to the animal shelter, guests can book Pet Pal Playdates with adoptable dogs during their group meeting breaks.
Meanwhile, guests just passing through the hotel might bump into one of the hotel's visiting Pet Pals in the lobby, as the dogs greet guests on weekday afternoons. Once one is adopted, another is selected to roam the hotel.

In addition to an unexpected (but probably much-needed) pet session, the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia offers plenty of perks for guests traveling with their pets, including food and water bowls delivered to guestrooms, a map of the best local walking paths, a pet exercise area and pet-sitting and grooming services, among other things.
But welcome pets aren't limited to dogs. "At every Kimpton boutique hotel, we invite you to bring your furry, feathery or scaly family member-no matter their size, weight, or breed, all at no extra charge," Kimpton states on its website. "If your pet fits through the door, we'll welcome them in."
