Legoland Florida Hotel Opens Steps from Resort Theme Park
Friday marks the much anticipated opening of the Legoland Hotel at Florida's Legoland Resort.
Located within walking distance of the popular theme park, the five-story hotel boasts more than 150 rooms and more than 2,000 Lego models.
"From the minute you walk into Legoland Hotel, you can see it's totally designed and built for kids," said Legoland spokeswoman Julie Estrada via BayNews9.com.
The resort posted photos of Friday's celebration on its official Twitter account:
"Legoland Florida Resort is continuously expanding, making it an awesome place for families with children to stay for multiple days. The addition of Legoland Hotel makes that possible," said Legoland Florida Resort general manager Adrian Jones. "The hotel is a fully immersive experience, with a number of exclusive features unique to LEGOLAND Florida Resort and we’re excited to welcome families to stay and play with us for the first time in Florida!"
Guests can choose from four different themed rooms: pirate, adventure, kingdom and friends. Premium themed rooms with more than the standard eight Lego models are also available.
The rooms sleep a minimum of five people with rates starting at $219 a night.
A pool, Skyline Lounge and Bricks Family Restaurant are among the hotel's top amenities, which include special features like Lego pits in the lobby and scavenger hunts for each room. There's also a workshop where guests can build and learn from Lego master model designer Jason Miller.
"We've taken our model shop and brought it inside the hotel, so we have a master model builder workshop only for our hotel guests," added Estrada.
In addition to early access to the Legoland Resort, guests are provided free breakfast as well as daily and nightly entertainment.
The hotel's exterior is highlighted by an eight-foot-wide Lego dragon model that shoots steam out of its nostrils as guests make their way inside, which they can officially begin doing as of Friday.
