Loews Hotels Appoints Oliver Bonke as Company's First CCO
Loews Hotels & Resorts has appointed Oliver Bonke as the company's first-ever chief commercial officer, it announced Monday.
The appointment is effective Monday, with Bonke set to take the reins immediately.
In his new role, the industry veteran will be tasked with overseeing Loews' strategic growth as well as presiding over sales, marketing, guest-facing technology and public affairs.
"The newly created positon of a chief commercial officer is vital as Loews experiences a significant growth period," explained the company's president and CEO Kirk Kinsell in a statement.
Kinsell went on to call Bonke's experience, knowledge and insights "critical assets for our successful brand expansion both domestically and abroad."
"I have admired the quality of this company for years. With growth on the upswing not only of Loews Hotels & Resorts, but also of the Loews Regency and OE Collection, now is the perfect time to leverage my background and help meet the expected business goals of the brands," Bonke said in a statement of his own. "This is an incredible opportunity for me to join a stellar team and help expand Loews Hotels as a premium competitor for the future."
While the new position will undoubtedly present Bonke with challenges, the role is one he's comfortable in. After all, Bonke joins Loews from the InterContinental Hotels Group, where he served as the company's chief commercial officer of the Americas.
Prior to working with IHG, Bonke spent more than two decades serving various positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Headquartered in New York, Loews currently operates just under two dozen hotels in the U.S. and Canada.
