Loews Hotels & Resorts kicked off its Loews Regency luxury brand on Wednesday with the announcement of its acquisition of Mandarin Oriental San Francisco Hotel, which will be renamed the Loews Regency San Francisco.
The Loews Regency San Francisco will join the renovated Loews Regency New York as the first two properties under the Loews Regency brand.
According to a press release, the Loews Regency moniker will be synonymous with location, service and energy. Loews Regency hotels will be situated in major tourist destinations, offer personalized service, feature vibrant lobby bars and lounges, and promote a sophisticated and modern culture.
Each Loews Regency will also feature a special “Power Breakfast” that springs from Loews Regency New York and has been highly popular with celebrities and top professionals.
"The Loews Regency San Francisco coupled with the iconic Loews Regency New York allows us to develop a new brand that really concentrates on customers looking for an intimate luxury experience," said Jonathan Tisch, chairman of Loews Hotels & Resorts.
The 155-room Loews Regency San Francisco is located in San Francisco’s Financial District, on the top floors of the city’s third-tallest building. It features the Brasserie S&P restaurant, more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space and an 8,000-square-foot spa and fitness center.
Loews Regency San Francisco is the eighth addition to the Loews Hotels portfolio announced over the past three years. Loews Hotels recently opened the 400-room Loews Chicago Hotel—another contender for the Loews Regency label.
Loews Hotels now operates three brands: the upper-upscale Loews Hotels & Resorts, the luxury Loews Regency and The OE Collection, which supports independent hotels in the upper-upscale and lifestyle categories.
