London's first floating hotel is set to open this fall.
HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts' Good Hotel London recently floated into Royal Victoria Dock. The unique property features 148 en-suite guestrooms, a rooftop garden and a cafe, among other amenities.
In addition to its floating platform, what sets the hotel apart is its mission.
The hotel aims to live up to its name by providing long-term unemployed locals with on-site hospitality training. According to the Guardian, one-third of the staff is comprised of individuals struggling to find work.
"They are taken on for a 10-month placement that includes training and working in the hotel, and then helped to find long-term work through the hotel's partners," the Guardian reported. "As one group graduates, a new intake is employed, a model which will be repeated in London, although this time trainees will be taken on for shorter, 3-month placements."

The Good Hotel — which is located near a handful of notable travel hubs and attractions, including London City Airport and The O2 Arena — will also serve up locally sourced produce in the hotel bar, cafe and restaurant.
Other highlights include a Wi-Fi-enabled social "living room" and stellar views of the surrounding water.
"The Royal Victoria Dock is the perfect location for Good Hotel and we aim to offer a fantastic experience for discerning leisure and business travelers alike," said Good Hospitality Group founder Marten Dresen in a statement. "Moreover, we want to give something back to this vibrant community and hope that we can offer a practical career option for locals who have found it difficult to get that first break or step back into work."
Prior to floating into Royal Victoria Dock, the hotel had been based in Amsterdam, where it opened in June 2015.
