A new level of luxury now overlooks New York City.

The acclaimed Beekman, a Thompson Hotel, debuted two luxurious penthouse suites that occupy the turrets on the rooftop of the iconic building. It looks like the property chose the right time to premier these new luxury offerings-luxury hotel bookings are up more than 27 percent this year according to a study by Travel Leaders Group.

Thompson hotels are known for their luxury, exclusivity, attention to detail and stunning design, which makes these two new suites a the Beekman in New York City all the more intriguing.

The debut of the Turret Penthouse Suites comes on the heels of the hotel's one-year anniversary. Each occupies two floors and offers guests 1,200 square feet of living space.

While spacious, the aesthetic features-such as 40-foot-high pitched ceilings, private entryways, 19th-century beaux-arts movement chandeliers, intricate ironwork and vintage furnishings-are also worth noting.

On the first floor, visitors will find a lavish lounge, dining area and an antique stone fireplace complete with a wet bar, powder room and marble bathroom.

Head up to the mezzanine to overlook the entertainment space and find features such as a king-size bed and large soaking tub. The rooms also feature dark-wood paneling, aged oak floors, bright accents of color and original artwork curated for each room.

The rooms are available for $6,500 per night and come with a host of amenities. Guests receive access to a dedicated concierge team, roundtrip airport transfers, exclusive access to Lexus vehicles, daily American breakfast and more.

At the hotel itself, visitors will find two onsite restaurants: Temple Court and Augustine. There is also The Bar Room, a lounge and event spaces.

The historic property, which dates back to 1881, is a New York treasure. The building underwent an extensive three-year renovation before debuting as the Beekman in 2016.

The hotel is known for its imposing nine-story atrium and skylight and is situated in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by some of New York City's most iconic landmarks such as the World Trade Center and the Brooklyn Bridge.

There are more than 287 rooms at the property, including 38 suites and the two signature penthouses.
