Marriott International has announced a new name and brand approach for North America's largest hotel management organization.
The company announced Monday that "Managed by Marriott" (MxM) will aim to maximize owners' hotels' financial performance through performance, people and partnership.
Marriott defined the three guiding principles as capturing excellence in sales, distribution and operations, those who represent MxM's talent and a relationship-focused approach to doing business.
"Managed by Marriott works in partnership with owners to help meet their business goals, using the expertise and resources we've developed as a world-class hotel management company" said Marriott group president Dave Grissen in a statement. "Our management organization has a new name, but our primary mission remains the same - to continue to maximize financial performance for our owners."
Citing a 2015 owner survey, Marriott said that three out of four owners recently indicated that they would consider Marriott to operate their next hotel.
Marriott credited MxM's ability to deliver positive results to its "world-class sales organization, disciplined approach to lowering costs, innovative strategies to improve profitability, and competitive fee structure."
Marriott currently provides management expertise and systems to more than 1,000 hotels worldwide, and operates roughly 700 hotels across the U.S. and Canada.
"Our long-standing relationship with Managed by Marriott is built on a common goal to maximize the value of our Marriott branded assets," said Asset Management's executive vice president of Host Hotels and Resorts Minaz Abji in a statement. "They continue to innovate and focus on driving the best possible NOI for our hotels."
