Meliá Hotels International Introduces the MeliáPro-Training Program

Meliá Hotels International (MHI) introduced a new training software, MeliaPro-Training, created to help travel agents and clients alike learn more about the brand via a user-friendly virtual library of extensive brand data. The program, MeliáDigital, is just the beginning of the digital innovation MHI is pursuing in all aspects of its business.
“Professionals in the sector should know our hotels, brands and attributes better than anyone else, and providing them access to this information quickly and attractively is our responsibility,” stated Gabriel Escarrer, the deputy chairman and CEO of Meliá. “That is why we have developed MeliáPro-Training, pioneering program.”
The company recently launched a new portal for travel agents, MELIá PRO, which features an easy-to-use booking engine and highly competitive rates. It is an exclusive resource center specifically designed to increase business for the company’s travel partners and also houses its new loyalty platform, MELIá PRO Rewards, which offers exclusive rates and benefits for agents at any of the company’s portfolio of over 350 hotels worldwide.
As part of the new travel agent portal, Meliá Hotels International developed MeliáPro-Training. This tool provides a user-friendly multimedia learning library with comprehensive information on the company’s seven brands and corresponding properties. The program also offers tips on ways to improve sales and how to select the Meliá hotel best suited for each individual client.
“This program will enable Meliá Hotels International to further its relationship with one of our most important business segments: travel agents, whose work is dictated by demanding customers who expect a more personalized and sophisticated service,” said Jose María Dalmau, the deputy chairman of Business Development of Meliá. “MeliáPro represents a transformation that is just as much about culture as it is about technology, and that is why the MeliáPro-Training platform is essential.”
Throughout the learning process, travel agents also have an opportunity to enter the "super suitcase" contest, which will award seven lucky agents a week-long holiday in a hotel chosen by Meliá Hotels International.
