Guests staying at MGM Resorts International properties in Las Vegas no long have to stop by the casino to compete in tournament games.
The Vegas-based hospitality company announced the launch of a groundbreaking mobile gaming platform Wednesday that will allow guests at nine different resorts to compete in various tournament games from anywhere with their mobile device, whether poolside or inside their guestroom.
Developed by oneLIVE Inc, easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments is the first digital and interactive tournament to be offered by a regulated casino in the U.S.
In addition to mobile devices and laptop computers, guests can join in the tournaments via the InteractivePro Tables located throughout participating MGM Resorts properties, which include the ARIA Resort & Casino, the Bellagio, the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, the Monte Carlo, the Luxor, New York-New York and Excalibur.
Casino games offered through the platform include slots, bingo and video poker. However social and console games are available as well.
"The tournaments are extremely user-friendly, provide players with a variety of game options including slots and bingo, among others, and bring an element of competition that our guests will enjoy whether they are sitting at a bar enjoying a drink or simply hanging out by the pool," said MGM Resorts International's Senior Vice President of Business Development Tom Mikulich in a statement.
Guests must be at least 21 years old to play in easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments.
The first large contest, the All Summer Long Winner Takes All Progressive Slot Tournament kicks off this summer. Guests who enter with $5 prior to Sept. 4 will have a chance at winning the minimum grand prize of $10,000.
