If you’re a big Hilton Worldwide fan, you may have recognized a certain hotel that’s featured in the new movie “Danny Collins,” starring Al Pacino.

Via a partnership between Hilton Hotels & Resorts and distribution company Bleecker Street, Hilton Woodcliff Lake in New Jersey is featured in the new film, which is based on the true story of a musician who turns his life around after discovering a 40-year-old letter written to him by John Lennon.

The collaboration between Hilton and Bleecker Street stemmed from Hilton’s desire to build on its “Our Stage, Your Story” campaign. The campaign, launched in 2014, showcases travelers’ passions for new experiences through stories, said Rob Palleschi, global head of full service brands for Hilton Worldwide.

Hilton also has a storied past working with the film and music industry. Lennon actually wrote the lyrics to “Imagine” at New York Hilton Midtown. Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties have been the setting for several major films throughout the years, including Elvis Presley’s 1961 classic “Blue Hawaii” and more recent movies such as “Godzilla” and “Up in the Air.” And Golden Globes and Grammy Award ceremonies have been held at The Beverly Hilton.

It began with the company’s founder, Conrad Hilton.

“Company founder, Conrad Hilton, was always a Hollywood insider who started a relationship with the film industry that, decades later, is still part of our Hilton DNA,” Palleschi said. “Today, we remain passionate about helping create memorable moments on both the big and small stages.”

“Hilton has long helped to create memorable moments in entertainment and has supported the film from the onset,” added Andrew Karpen, CEO of Bleecker Street, via a release. “We’re proud to partner with them in bringing the film to Hilton guests nationwide.”

Naturally, movies tend to inspire tourism to film settings. In this case, New Jersey and Hilton Woodcliff Lake are highlighted, in part because writer/director Dan Fogelman grew up in River Vale, N.J., just miles away from the Hilton property.

“In conversations, Dan noted that he had attended several celebrations at the hotel and that he wanted to tell this story of love, family and personal rediscovery in the setting of his hometown,” Palleschi said.

Hilton is showcasing a number of promotions and activities based on “Danny Collins.”

A Danny Collins-inspired cocktail is being featured at all U.S. Hilton properties. Steinway grand pianos, similar to the piano featured in the film, are being placed in the hotel lobbies of The Beverly Hilton, New York Hilton Midtown and Chicago's Palmer House, A Hilton Hotel through March 29.

Custom notepads are also being placed in-room at 79 key market U.S. hotels. Guests are encouraged to write what inspires them, then take a photo and share using the #hiltonstory hashtag for a chance to win movie tickets.

“Danny Collins” also stars Jennifer Garner, Bobby Cannavale, Christopher Plummer and Annette Bening as Hilton Woodcliff Lake’s general manager

“What other hotel brand can claim Annette Bening as one of their hotel general managers?” Palleschi said.

The film opened March 20 and is showing at theaters nationwide.
