Nearly half a million bees have arrived at the New York Hilton Midtown.
Just in time for National Honey Month, the 450,000 honeybees will get to work on the hotel's 16,000-square-foot green rooftop, where they'll benefit the ecosystem as well as guests staying at the four-star hotel.
The approximately 300 pounds of honey produced by the bees will be harvested by the hotel to create honey-infused food and beverages, as well as several locally-sourced beauty and specialty amenities.
The hotel's urban market will soon offer delectable dishes like honey-dipped fried chicken and rosemary-honey flatbreads, while bourbon-based honey peach cobbler milkshakes and honey-kissed grapefruit cosmopolitans will await guests at the property's Bridges Bar.

Meanwhile, the new and improved banquet menu features honey-inspired dishes like whipped ricotta cheese crostini with honeycomb and tequila-honey cured salmon.
This fall, guests staying at the New York Hilton Midtown can also purchase the Autumn Apiary Package, which includes a private beekeeping experience with the hotel's official beekeeper Andrew Coté, honey-themed turndown treats and a jar of fresh honey from the rooftop.
"Our team is dedicated to supporting New York City's honeybee population through this new venture," said the property's general manager, Diarmuid Dwyer, in a statement. "Our commitment to urban beekeeping will now benefit both the ecosystem as well as our hotel guests who can experience the benefits of our newly welcomed beehives and embark on a one-of-a-kind stay near one of the world's most famed parks."
The New York Hilton Midtown is located five blocks from Central Park, meaning the bees won't have to travel far to find a supply of nectar.

The Italian, Russian and Carniolan honeybees fittingly arrived at the hotel inside of a vintage yellow taxi cab Tuesday. The six queen bees are named Shelby, Ruby, Phoebe, Suite B, Beatrice and Connie. The latter was named as a tribute to Hilton founder, Conrad Hilton.
