New York is one of the most exciting places on earth to visit, and the Brooklyn borough of the City has blossomed over recent years into a marketable tourist attraction.

That’s why the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge is beginning a $43 million renovation project that will help the hotel satisfy visitors who want to stay in the heart of Brooklyn on business or during their vacations.

According to hotel officials, the New York Marriott is making major changes to keep up with the budding atmosphere engulfing the Brooklyn section of the city. Using the borough’s long history and diverse background, the hotel is looking to incorporate a local flavor and a modern flair into the improvements.

The hotel is striving to be the perfect mix of businessperson’s delight and a treat for people trying to enjoy their vacation to New York City and Brooklyn especially: New York Marriott co-owner, Joshua Muss, released a statement about the hotel and the upgrades:

“When we opened the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, it quickly rose to be the leader in New York City hospitality. My grandfather started Muss Development in Brooklyn back in 1906. This hotel's transformation represents another personal and business milestone in our ongoing commitment to Brooklyn and to New York City. We set the stage for welcoming business and leisure travelers to the borough, and after 17 years, the hotel still sets the highest standard - by far the best that Brooklyn has to offer - in size, style, meeting and banquet space, location and service!”

The renovations to the building and services it provides will happen in stages. The first will be changes and improvements to The Bar (Great Room Lobby), front desk and exclusive new M Club Lounge, and they will be unveiled in May.

The next phase of upgrades will be made to the hotel’s ballroom and meeting rooms and will be completed in September. Another major project is the redesign of the New York Marriott’s 667 guest rooms, and those renovations will be finished in 2016.
