Spanish hotel chain NH Hotel Group has announced signficant expansion in a pair of premier European destinations with the opening of two new hotels under its upper-upscale NH Collection brand.
The NH Collection Gran Hotel Calderon has opened in Barcelona, while the NH Collection Suecia opened in the Spanish capital of Madrid. Staying true to brand concept, both five-star hotels are located inside landmark buildings near marquee tourist attractions.
Highlights at the 255-room NH Collection Gran Hotel Calderon along Rambla de Catalunya include an LED video wall in the lobby, 10 meeting and event rooms and a terrace equipped with a pool and solarium. The terrace also offers 360-degree views of Barcelona.

Meanwhile, following a complete overhaul, the historic Hotel Suecia has become the NH Collection Suecia. The 123-room property is the NH Collection's third in Madrid and likely to be a hit with tourists given its proximity to a handful of notable attractions.
After all, the hotel is just steps away from dozens of the city's top museums and art galleries.
What's more, the NH Collection Suecia's Casa Suecia restaurant will serve up traditional Mediterranean fare with an international flare.
NH Collection currently operates 67 properties across more than a dozen countries in Europe and Latin America, with one-third of those hotels located in Spain. Looking ahead, as many as eight additional properties are slated to be added in Mexico, Chile, France, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Spain over the next two years.
