Oahu’s JW Marriott Ihilani Launches Aquatic Workout Program
Hotel & Resort | December 12, 2010
The JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on Oahu’s western shore has launched Fin to Fitness, an aquatic workout program inspired by mermaids. Conducted at the Ihilani Spa’s lap pool, the class is part of the revitalized spa’s theme of “healing by the sea.” The hour-long class is available in a private group setting for up to 10 people. During the first half, guests will be on the pool deck, warming up, stretching and receiving instructions on proper swim techniques. During the second half, guests wear a monofin and swim, learning the Dolphin Kick, a competitive underwater swim technique that emulates how a dolphin cuts through the ocean. The session will burn 300 to 700 calories per hour and, along with providing a workout, help guests learn balance, coordination and agility. The class is available every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and costs $25 per person age 16 and older. To reserve a space in the class, call 808-679-3321 or visit www.ihilanispa.com. For general hotel information, call 800-626-4446 or visit www.ihilani.com.
