Palace Resorts is set to steal the entertainment spotlight this year as it folds in recently announced additions to its 2016 entertainment roster.

Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun is slated to host a pair of musical icons on Nov. 18 and 19 — the legendary Gloria Gaynor and Grammy-winning Kool & The Gang. Just in time for the holidays, Moon Palace Arena will welcome Cirque Eloize ID on a limited engagement from Dec. 22, 2016 through Jan. 3, 2017 (with the exception of Dec. 24 and 31, 2016). Resort guests will receive preferred ticketing prices.

Gibran Chapur, executive vice president of Palace Resorts, noted that Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort is known as Cancun’s entertainment destination for good reason. “The Palace Resorts team has set a new industry standard by consistently providing our guests with the opportunity to experience diverse programming ranging from Grammy award-winning icons to show-stopping spectacles as part of the all-inclusive concept,” he said.

Chapur added, “Our five-star product — coupled with a 2016 lineup that now includes Kool & The Gang, Gloria Gaynor and Cirque Eloize ID — promises guests the ideal backdrop for an unforgettably entertaining vacation experience.”

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Kool & The Gang has delivered such classics as “Cherish,” “Celebration” and “Summer Madness.” The funk band has amassed a pair of Grammys, nine Top Ten hits, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, seven American Music Awards, and 31 gold and platinum albums over the span of its history.

With a near-40-year career, Gaynor is best know for such hits as “Never Can Say Goodbye,” “Let Me know” and “I Will Survive.” In 1980, the latter garnered a Grammy award for Best Disco Recording. The disco-era hit received a Grammy Hall of Fame induction in 2012.

The dinner show performance with dancing intermission will offer VIP, Diamond, Platinum and Gold section tickets from $129-$249.

Dazzling more than 3.5 million spectators in more than 40 countries and 440 cities across the globe, Cirque Eloize ID will deliver a two-hour mind-boggling performance in the 140,000-square-foot Moon Palace Arena that debuted in 2014.

Since launching in Canada in 1993, the thrilling troupe has won a 2014 Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience.” It also received nods from the Festival Mondial du Cirque de demain in Paris in 2013 and the 26th Grand Prix du Conseil des Arts de Montreal in 2010.
