Playa Hotels & Resorts, one of the leading all-inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, was recently ranked fifth in the category of Small Employers by the Sun Sentinel Media Group as being among the "Top Workplaces" in South Florida.
Playa was the only hotel company to be listed in its category and one of two hotels listed overall.
"We pride ourselves on our personal connection with our associates and value their dedication to Playa. Our high employee retention rate is a result of not only the work environment that we have created but the individuals that comprise it. Becoming one of the 'Top Workplaces' in South Florida only further solidifies that our approach in the workplace resonates with associates," Dayna Blank, vice president, Human Resources, said in a recent release. "When an employee is joining the Playa team they are not just getting a job, they are also becoming part of a family."
The report, which was carried out by a third party to ensure neutrality, surveyed more than 9,000 employees of businesses, nonprofits and government agencies in counties across South Florida. Employees were asked to rate their company on such issues of its corporate culture as alignment, execution and connection.
Playa recently made headlines for being the first and only company solely dedicated to the all-inclusive space to become publicly traded. Bruce Wardinski, chairman and CEO, was on hand to ring the closing bell.
Of the event, Wardinski said: "Our arrival on Nasdaq is an important milestone for us and marks the next step in our growth in the all-inclusive hospitality sector. It offers our stakeholders the opportunity to re-imagine all-inclusive hotels & resorts - and for our guests to experience what an all-inclusive can be. Today is a great moment for our company, and importantly, it's another step forward in the evolution of our industry."
