Renaissance Hotels wants you to know that it's different. Not bizarre. But definitely unusual, in a good way.
The Marriott International brand is teaming with TV personality and chef Andrew Zimmern to launch an original video series designed to highlight its emphasis on providing guests unusual experiences wherever they are.
The star of Travel Channel's "Bizarre Foods," Zimmern is certainly no stranger to the unusual and should fit in nicely in his new role as the brand's guest Navigator, or lifestyle concierge.
The series, titled "The Navigator's Table," will feature Zimmern and a handful of guests — including other chefs and TV personalities — chowing down, conversating and providing tips for travelers.
The Navigator's Table will follow Zimmern and company as they explore three major U.S. cities: Chicago, Nashville and New York.
Renaissance Hotels' vice president of marketing Dan Vinh called Zimmern the "perfect partner" for the chain given his "love for the unconventional."
"My whole life has been a journey of discovery, traveling the world looking for the exotic, bizarre and unusual," said Zimmern in a statement. "I know the difference between good food and good eating and how important it is to try something new and get out of our comfort zone..."
The first episode of the six-episode series premiered Tuesday and can be seen below.
Episode 2 will premiere Thursday and the series will continure through May 19, showcasing Nashville and New York in coming weeks. Viewers can watch full episodes at Renaissance Hotels' official website or on the brand's official YouTube channel.
Notable guests featured on upcoming episodes include "The Chew" co-host Carla Hall, musician Rachele Lynae and "Iron Chef" winner Jose Garces, among others.
