Residence Inn by Marriott is taking over New York City for Leap Day 2016.
Marriott's extended stay brand announced a series of events that will take place throughout the Big Apple Monday. The events, which are designed to showcase the brand's various service and amenity offerings, will be accompanied by a social media campaign.
The four interactive events are free to the public and kicked off Monday morning at 6 a.m. local time with complimentary yoga sessions and a "silent disco" street party.
While that yoga and disco wrapped up at 10 a.m., visitors to New York will still have plenty of time to take part in other activities. From 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., two mobile shave trucks will offer hot shaves, massages, mini-manicures and shoe shines.
Meanwhile, on Columbus Circle, Residence Inn has installed calling pods where visitors can relax and reconnect with family and friends. The pods are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
Lastly, Residence Inn will celebrate Leap Day along with its pet-friendly policy with a puppy party from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Residence Inn Midtown East. Hotel guests and visitors can stop by to pet the puppies or arrange an adoption from North Shore Animal League America.
If you're not in New York for Leap Day, you can follow the events using the hashtag #ExtraDayYourWay.
"Our goal is to provide an opportunity for guests to thrive and experience the comfort elements of the modern home, as well as service and amenities that result in extra 'found time' to explore new surroundings and reconnect," said Residence Inn's vice president and global brand manager Diane Mayer in a statement.
