Ringing In the New Hilton London Bankside With Sensational Jess Glynne

Hilton London Bankside is a beautiful hotel nestled comfortably within spitting distance of Tate Modern. Among its more intriguing amenities is the ability to transform like Optimus Prime into a full-fledged concert hall where someone like Jess Glynne might work her magic.
I was fortunate enough to join other writers on a press trip to this budding accommodation sandwiched between the Southwark and London Bridge tube stations.
One of the many brilliant turns of this particular trip was a concert featuring this pop artist, who has racked up five No. 1 singles in the United Kingdom.
The concert was a part of the wonderfully engaging Hilton@PLAY series that continues to bring top-shelf talent to fans worldwide thanks to a partnership between Hilton and Live Nation.

Via a press release, Hilton Worldwide’s Geraldine Calpin offered, “After hosting three successful Hilton@PLAY concerts at some of our most storied hotels, we're excited to take a new approach in London, coinciding the concert with the official opening party of Hilton London Bankside. We knew it was time to turn our focus to another city known to work hard, and more importantly, play hard — and with 29 Hilton properties located across the city, London felt like the natural choice. What better way to enjoy the city in all its glory, than by offering an unforgettable performance at our new hotel with chart-topping sensation, Jess Glynne!”
And I, a numbskull who was unfamiliar with the breadth of Glynne’s repertoire, was invited along for the ride.
It was fitting, seeing as how I would also be meeting the newly formed Hilton London Bankside for the first time, getting to immerse myself in a pop culture catalog as well as a hotel that will soon greet millions.
While there will be more articles on my adventures over four days in London, I have to say that both artist and hotel exceeded my rather large expectations.
But for the moment I would like to commend those who worked tirelessly to transform a classy and vivacious ballroom into a moody and hypnotic concert venue.
It illustrated versatility for the hotel that is really rather superfluous when you consider how it already shines with rooms and amenities.
But the pleasant surprises continued the minute Glynne took the stage, armed with soulful vocals and a vibrant band to fill in behind her.
It was easy to get caught up in the rapture of the moment as joyful fans gathered together to dance, smile and mouth lyrics they have belted out so many times prior in the shower.
Glynne started off the proceedings with “Ain’t Got Far To Go” and ended with a flourish of “Hold My Hand,” filling the rest of the night with the usual suspects of hits.
And anyone who is familiar with her music knows that fans left the ballroom with zeal in their step, walking out into the crisp London night refreshed and delighted.
