RIU Mexico Trio Receives Four Diamond Status
RIU Hotels & Resorts has once again achieved stellar status in Mexico, with three of its all-inclusive resorts repeating with prestigious American Automobile Association (AAA) Four Diamond recognition.
The award has gone to the RIU Palace Mexico on the Mayan Riviera, RIU Palace Pacifico on the Nayarit Riviera and RIU Plaza Guadalajara. The former two fall into RIU's sophisticated RIU Palace category, while the latter is within the RIU Plaza urban category. These three RIU resorts are actually “three-peats” as they were also granted the award in 2014 and 2015.

AAA’s Four Diamond ranking reflects one of the most coveted achievements in the tourism industry. In the 2016 selection process, AAA analysts — consisting of trained professionals and AAA tourism editors — evaluated some 59,000 hotels and restaurants across Mexico, Canada and the United States. Evaluation is based on public areas, exterior grounds, guest room amenities, room decor and ambiance, bathrooms, housekeeping, guest services and management. For consideration, each hotel must excel in all areas.
RIU's Four Diamond Dazzlers
RIU presents its own rigorous standards that enhance its AAA appeal. To be designated as a RIU Palace property, resorts must be located on the finest beaches across the globe, present distinctive architecture and interior decoration, offer an international range of dining and beverages, present distinguished gastronomic wealth, and provide a full range of leisure and entertainment pursuits.
In a beachfront location some two miles from Playa del Carmen, the all-inclusive Hotel RIU Palace Mexico features architecture in line with the traditional style of Mexican estates. The resort includes two freshwater swimming pools surrounded by a vast park, a Jacuzzi, solarium-terrace and wellness center with a range of therapies. Both properties feature RIU's all-inclusive system that covers all meals and snacks, 24-hour room service, sports and activities, entertainment, plus all taxes and tips.
