Sandos Debuts New Facilities, Programming and Culinary Options

In order to continue to heighten and enhance the guest experience, Sandos Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a generous number of new facilities, activities and upgraded food and beverage options at its four all-inclusive in Mexico.

In Playa del Carmen, a new amphitheater and entertainment plaza has debuted at the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort, featuring daily theatrical events with an over-sized screen and an array of comfortable seating areas.

The property is also the recipient of a new bar, Bámbola, and Chayita, a Mexican restaurant serving burritos, tacos and salads from noon to midnight.

In the coming weeks, Sandos Playacar will introduce the All Playa Experience entertainment program, with themed events based on well-known international beach destinations. Events will include cocktails, performances and cuisine that tie into each destination.

The Sandos Caracol Eco Resort in Riviera Maya has expanded its Xcalacoco Experience to include a number of new activities, including excursions that explore the region’s ecosystem. The Xcalacoco Experience focuses on activities and learning experiences themed to Mexican events. Two upcoming events include the Autumn Equinox on Sept. 20 and Day of the Dead on Nov. 1 and 2.

The property has also enhanced its kids’ aqua park, which reopened in June and features 17 slides and splash zones, and a snack bar.

On Mexico’s west coast, the Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos unveiled two new accommodations categories, which include 26 Deluxe Finisterra Casitas and seven Finisterra Casita Suites. The deluxe accommodations, which are equipped with one king or two queen beds, offer bay views. The suites, with views of the marina and downtown Cabo San Lucas, are also equipped with one king or two queens, as well as separate living areas with sofa beds.

Earlier this year, the resort enhanced the Agave restaurant’s menu to include a variety of steak entrees. It has also revamped the menu of the open-air Tortuga Beach, which now features an international bistro-themed concept.

In other developments, the property recently opened a lobby bar, La Rocca, which serves handcrafted martinis. It also debuted a private check-in area for Royal Elite Club members.

The resort will soon introduce Dinner with the Chef, with cooking classed provided by the executive chef.  

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Sandos Finisterra offers what it calls “wow moments,” where guests are able to chat with the resort executives while enjoying hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails. They can also mingle with executives during a weekly White Party dinner buffet.

Lastly, the Sandos Cancun Luxury Resort revamped Seasons, its signature restaurant, to incorporate a variety of hearty meat selections.

Earlier this year, Sandos lowered its minimum age for check-ins from 21 to 18, based on guest feedbacks.
