Shangri-La Hotel to Officially Open in India Thursday
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is scheduled to open a new facility on Sept. 24 in Bengaluru, India, which is slated to become the city's leading destination for business and leisure travelers.
The Shangri-La Hotel will offer several restaurants and bar options for tourists making the trip for pleasure, and public and private meeting areas for the business traveler. The new facility will house 397 rooms and will be situated on nearly two acres of land between the central business district and residential suburbs.
The hotel is just 30 minutes from Bengaluru International Airport, and offers tourists a great view of Bangalore Palace and Cubbon Park. The building itself is also beautiful, standing 19 stories tall and featuring a massive main lobby with cylindrical chandeliers, marble columns and traditional Indian motifs.
President and CEO of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Greg Dogan released a statement about the new property opening up in India, saying, “Shangri-La's expansion on the Indian subcontinent marks an exciting third quarter for the group. We are excited to reveal a new luxury landmark in Bengaluru that adds to our international presence and will welcome our loyal and new guests for business or leisure.”
Standing above the city with a beautiful view of the skyline, the hotel is outfitted with large rooms that feature free wireless Internet access, executive desks, window-side sofas and spacious bathrooms.
Shangri-La Hotel also features 30 suites of varying sizes that offer panoramic views, full access to the Horizon Club Lounge, catering, services of a concierge team and more.
