Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Garners Sheraton Grand Status

Since debuting in 2000 as the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort, this timeless 270-room oceanfront resort has been gaining recognition for constantly targeting fresh and higher levels of hospitality. At the forefront is the food and beverage scene that’s dominated by Five Diamond Award-winning De Cortez Grill and Restaurant, and Pitahayas Restaurant.

This continuous effort to shine has recently been rewarded as Sheraton Hotels & Resorts elevated the Los Cabos property to its new Sheraton Grand tier. Launching in August 2015, this premier category lauds the brand’s “best-in-class” hotels that are selected for criteria that encompasses enticing destinations, distinctive design, stellar amenities and unrivaled service standards.

With its updated Sheraton Grand Los Cabos, Hacienda del Mar moniker, the 26-acre oceanfront icon is the only Mexico property, and one of only three in South and Central America that has been tapped for the designation.

According to Ricardo Iriarte, Sheraton Grand Los Cabos’ tour and travel sales manager, each hotel in the collection features individual architecture and design. “There are a select number of hotels that can be named Sheraton Grand, and that is because of the exclusive and exotic destination we are in, the signature bars and restaurants we offer, our first-class spa, the excellence in the service we provide to our guests, and our beautiful architecture.”

Iriarte said that the property’s “Mexican-Mediterranean Colonial Hacienda Style architecture” allows guests to experience the real Mexico. “We have different villas around the property, and all of them are surrounded by soul-nourishing landscapes with well cared gardens and water fountains that immerse you in ancient Mexico.”

He noted that the resort’s Cactus Spa has received accolades as one of the best resort spas in Latin America. “We also have five pools, six bars to savor different signature cocktails, and six restaurants — two of which have been recognized with the Five Star Diamond Award.” Iriarte added that La Suerte offers more than 100 brands of tequila, and Sirenas Restaurant Bar features a Port Cuisine experience where dishes from different ports of the world are presented in a conceptual menu.

While children find endless entertainment at the Kids Club, the entire family can bond at the kid’s pool with fountains, slide and hanging bridge. “For the golfers, we are surrounded by two world-class golf courses at Cabo del Sol,” Iriarte said. “And we offer a special Unlimited Golf package for those who would like to tee off on the Desert Course designed by Tom Weiskopf and the Ocean Course designed by Jack Nicklaus.”

The Agent’s Edge

The Sheraton Grand tier is one of numerous components presented in Sheraton 2020, a comprehensive five-year plan created to replant Sheraton Hotels & Resorts into the global spotlight. Other elements set to roll out include a new elevated food and beverage lobby program called Paired, continuous innovation of the overall guest experience and a goal of adding more than 150 new Sheraton hotels worldwide by 2020.

For your clients focusing on the here and now, Iriarte noted that Mexico’s premiere Sheraton Grand property is a good fit for business travelers, couples and families. The resort’s elevated status means your clients should expect an unparalleled level of luxury, hospitality and service during their stay.

“You can relax on our sunny beaches, refresh yourself at our pools and even enjoy a cocktail or two in the water at our Delfines swim-up bar,” said Iriarte. “You can walk around the property to discover magical corners with different tropical flowers and desert cacti, and at night savor the contemporary cuisine offered at De Cortez Restaurant or Pitahayas Restaurant.”
