LGBT Pride Month is set to kick off next week and with it a plethora of festivals.
With the annual celebration of LGBT pride taking place in conjunction with the start of the busy summer travel season, travelers are sure to welcome any and all opportunities to save, especially on flights and hotel stays.
Deals on the Ground
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's loyalty program Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) has launched a Pride promotion called "Stay Proud" that will offer program members discounted room rates on hotel stays this summer when they book between now and June 30.
The rates will be good for stays over the next three months from June 1 through Aug. 31.
The promotion will include discounts of up to 15 percent, with members earning an additional 5 percent off at select hotels during weekend stays this summer.
The Stay Proud promotion is enhanced by the fact that SPG is partnering with Delta Air Lines this summer. The former's Stay Proud promotion will coincide with Delta's "Fly Proud" promotion.
Deals in the Sky
The Fly Proud promotion celebrates the numerous LGBT Pride festivals taking place across North America during June's Pride month and is highlighted by discounted airfare.
Travelers can score deals by booking flights to any one of a number of different Pride festivals so long as they book at least 21 days in advance and before the sale ends June 1.
Eligible festivals include the Cadillac Barbie IN Pride Parade and Circle City IN Pride Festival in Indianapolis, LA Pride, the Nashville Pride Equality Walk, Motor City Pride in Detroit, NYC Heritage of Pride, Seattle PrideFest, Twin Cities Pride in Minneapolis, Utah Pride Festival in Salt Lake City, and The 519's Green Space Festival at Toronto Pride.
Air travelers will have their choice between First Class or Delta Comfort+ premium service and amenities will include premium boarding, additional legroom, free beverages and access to premium Delta Studio entertainment, among others.
