More than one-third (36 percent) of retirees have gone on a multigenerational trip in the past year, according to a report released by Merrill Lynch. The report shows, however, that while the retirees are thoroughly enjoying the experience of traveling with the grandchildren, multigenerational travel comes with its own set of unique challenges. The number one challenge is finding activities that appeal to everyone.

Grandma can take a flower arranging lesson, walk through the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary, or play a round of golf with exclusive rates and tee times at top Barbados golf clubs.

The entire family can come together and play a game of tennis, take a hike or relax with a yoga session or race go-karts at the Bushy Park Barbados race track. The Elegant Hotels' Family Boot Camp pits family members against each other in a fitness-based obstacle course, with bragging rights on the line. The extended family can enjoy a catamaran cruise, swim with the turtles, snorkel and take fishing tour, or zip across the resort.
When it is time for some good food, everyone can share experiences over a good meal and Turtle Beach has three onsite restaurants that serve all picky ones as well as snack options for the wee ones. If needed, Turtle Beach offer a Familymoon Getaway Package which includes 8 hours of babysitting services and one dinner for two on the beach.
The Turtle Beach resort sits on 1,500 feet of white sand beach and has 161 junior and one-bedroom suites, each with a private patio or balcony. Junior and one-bedroom suites that have enough room for up to four adults and three children. That leaves room for grandma, grandpa and even the cousins, if you'd like.
