When the Barceló Hotel Group announced that 2017 was going to be a year of strong growth for the company, a certain destination it had been pursuing was on its mind: Mexico City, the capital of the country where the chain has its second strongest presence with 21 establishments. That time is now and reaching the renowned Avenida Reforma will become a reality once the pending terms and approvals specified in the sale contract are resolved.
Barceló México Reforma: A classic in a district with strong real estate growth
The 5-star hotel with 500 rooms is a classic along Avenida Reforma, which is one of the most dynamic areas in the Mexican capital in terms of shopping, tourism and business. It has experienced strong real estate growth in recent years thanks to the construction of large skyscrapers and the restoration of emblematic buildings. The establishment, which was completely renovated in 2015, is expected to form part of the Barceló Hotel Group this August with the name Barceló México Reforma. The modern facilities include a buffet restaurant, steakhouse restaurant, lobby bar, sports bar and lounge.
According to Miguel Ángel Guardado, Managing Director of the Barceló Hotel Group in Mexico, "Although we already have a strong presence in Mexico and it has taken us some time to reach the capital, we are proud to establish our presence here with such an emblematic hotel. It will be a pleasure to show the Mexican market our extensive expertise in the urban hospitality industry, which we have been developing over the course of many years in major Latin American and European cities." He went on to conclude, "We are going to do this with our classic brand, Barceló, which will enable us to transform Barceló México Reforma into a reference for quality and exclusiveness where guests can enjoy exciting and unforgettable experiences."
