The BodyHoliday in St.Lucia, a leading health and wellness resort, has expanded its watersports offerings with the launch of its first yachting club in spring 2016, following the purchase of two new G-Force X-Treme 26 high-performance sailing yachts. The BodyHoliday will introduce a sports sailing program for experienced sailors and beginners, led by a fully-qualified team of sailing experts. It will be the only resort on the island to offer the high-speed performance yachts, allowing guests to experience the beauty of the west coast of the island and Martinique.
As part of the hotel’s all-inclusive offering, guests will be able to enjoy an “Introduction to Sailing” half-day course to master the basics. From beginners to seasoned sailors looking to learn new skills, specialist supplementary courses will be available, including five-day programs, “Learn to Crew,” “Learn to Helm,” as well as a two-day course, “Learn to Race.”
“Learn to Crew” aims to introduce beginners to the world of sailing. Through a practical and theory teaching method, participants will gain knowledge of yachts and basic sailing techniques, which will enable them to become an active crew member. Throughout the year, the resort will also run a series of regatta events in partnership with neighboring
island Martinique. G-Force Yachts is renowned as one of the world’s leading experts in producing and developing high-performance sailing yachts. Launched this spring, the X-Treme 26 is a high speed, state-of-the-art, up and downwind high-performance sailing yacht, which provides three racing solutions in one boat: One Design, handicap system and Match Race.
Located on the North West Coast of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, set in tropical gardens on the beachfront, The BodyHoliday is renowned for its unique approach to health, fitness and wellbeing. With an extensive program of classes and activities — including training with Olympic athletes, quadrathalons and assault courses — health and fitness is a key part of The BodyHoliday’s philosophy.
The all-inclusive health and fitness resort already offers a range of watersports, such as water skiing, windsurfing, paddle boarding and tubing. It also has an award-winning spa, with 33 treatment rooms and indulgent experiences from highly trained massage and beauty therapists.
Andrew Barnard, Deputy Managing Director at The BodyHoliday, said: “The BodyHoliday is a vacation for the body, founded on the key pillars of relaxation, restorative beauty, exercise and good diet, where guests leave feeling completely rejuvenated and energized. With the launch of our new sailing club, The BodyHoliday will continue to be unparalleled in terms of its facilities and offering, attracting expert sailors to the resort, which will ensure we maintain our position as the leading health and wellness holiday in the world.”
Since its launch in 2004, G-Force Yachts has been widely considered as the world’s leading expert in producing sailing yachts. G-Force Yachts’ current range includes the Rebel dinghy, the X-Treme 32 and the X-Treme 37.
