Are you ready kids?! Say aye-aye, Captain, as this month the much-anticipated Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts in Punta Cana finally opens its doors on Uvero Alto Beach in the Dominican Republic.
This first international Nickelodeon resort, located only 60 miles north of the Punta Cana Airport, features 208 oversized suites that are ideal for families of all sizes, as well as activities for all ages.
Smaller families can choose to stay in Jacuzzi Pads which come with standard amenities, as well as 1 king bed or 2 double beds and a pull-out sofa sleeper. There is also a dining room, TV, play area, marble oversized bathroom with double sinks and jetted Jacuzzi tub and a balcony with sitting area.
For those families who want a bit more space, the Jacuzzi Flat sleeps 5 and has a dining room, living room with a pull-out sofa bed, a master suite, marble-clad bath with jetted Jacuzzi tub, private balcony, and a separate room for the kids. The Jacuzzi Swim-Up Flat has the same features, plus direct access to the pool. The Swank Jacuzzi Suite accommodations feature a wrap-around private terrace, private master bedroom with a king size bed, smart TV, an oversized marble bathroom complete with an indoor shower, double sinks, and jetted Jacuzzi tub, and direct access to the pool.
You can also bring the extended family and stay in The Pool Super Villa, a two-story, two-bedroom villa, that comes with a private infinity pool and your very own butler for the duration of your stay.
Finally, what would a visit to Nickelodeon Resorts Punta Cana be like for the kids without letting them live in a pineapple under the sea? The Pineapple Villa, modeled after SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom home, sleeps 8 with two bedrooms, and comes with an outdoor shower, loft-style living room, infinity pool, sun-beds, dining and living areas and, again, your own butler.
If laying on the beach is all you want to during your vacation, go ahead and enjoy some much deserved R&R. Or get on your feet and indulge in any of the many activities at Nickelodeon Resorts Punta Cana, including tennis, snorkeling, yoga, aqua aerobics, cooking classes, dance and the Aqua Nick Playground with water slides, Splash Pads, Spray Grounds and a lazy river ride. The Just Kiddin’ playhouse offers free play and structured activities for 4 to 12 year olds.
The neighboring Sensatori Hotel Punta Cana provides a fitness center, climbing wall, multi-use course, bicycle and running track, archery, giant chess set, soccer court, beach volleyball and table tennis/Ping-Pong. For an additional cost, there is also scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, spa services, and nearby golf courses.
Nickelodeon Resorts Punta Canta also caters to every palate at meal time, offering a wide variety of cuisines. At Sugarcane, meals are cooked to order, and in Verdello, a Sicilian kitchen, guests can enjoy a wide selection of Focaccia and house made Limoncello. The menu is out of this world at Spacewalker, and Caribbean fare is the highlight of the menu at The Lighthouse. There’s Mediterranean cuisine at Zest, Far East Fusion at Wok Wok, light meals at Aqua Bite, and it’s all about artisan burgers at BRGRS.PH. For the refined over-18 crowd, Kitchen 23 by Le Chique offers such temptations as Corn + Mole Prieto, Infladita + Frijol, Colado + Cricket, and Quail Egg + Pipicha.
One word of caution: when Nickelodeon is involved, things can always get a little slimy!
