It used to be that you were stuck with just some overpriced meal items when it came to the room service menu, but hotels have been upgrading the options over the last few years, says USA Today, and the selection some establishments offer is pretty incredible.
For one, in the French Quarter Inn in Charleston, S.C., you can order up munchies for the perfect movie night.
"Options include movie theater-style popcorn, Jelly Belly jelly beans, candy and chips. If you're really in the know, ask room service for some of the hotel's famous boiled peanuts that are offered each evening at the lobby's complimentary happy hour," writes Ramsey Qubein.
At the Music Hotel in Berlin, guests can order up their very own guitar.
"Get your music on at the nhow Music Hotel in Berlin, which has a host of Epiphone Guitars on its room service menu," says Qubein.
In the Riviera Maya, you can really personalize your scent.
"Ring up the soap concierge at the Viceroy Riviera Maya for your daily order of fragrant, organic soap to enjoy in your private, outdoor shower," notes Qubein.
For a really personalized experience, head to the Six Senses Koh Samui, where you can pick your own eggs - straight from the chicken.
"Yes, that's jazz music you hear in the background to soothe the chickens. Leave these for your guest experience maker the night before, and the chef will prepare farm-fresh egg dishes to be delivered to your door the next morning," writes Qubein.
