Far from resting on its laurels, The Resort at Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas continues to generate buzz for its Five Diamond offerings. Most recently, the upscale property has announced the addition of seven three- and four-bedroom Villa Collection suites. The Casa Bella Vista has debuted, with plans for the other six to roll out at the beginning of next year.
According to Fernando Flores, the cliffside resort’s general manager, the 4,391-square-foot three-bedroom haven is an ideal option for both families and couples traveling together. “The plush, two-level Casa Bella Vista features two master bedrooms and a separate guest casita, with each bedroom boasting its own en-suite bathroom,” said Flores. “Guests are greeted by a lavishly appointed living room with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning marina views.”

He added that the entertainment factor is key, since each Villa Collection suite will feature an open balcony designed with a fire pit, private infinity pool with loungers and barbecue area. Other suite perks include a full kitchen, dedicated butler service, and an indoor parking space with washer and dryer room.
The nightly rate is from $1,700.
On the Foodie Front
Considered one of Los Cabos’ most intimate and exclusive culinary celebrations, The Resort at Pedregal’s annual The Art of Taste food and wine festival has been rescheduled from summer to fall. “We decided to change the event to the end of October so that our festival kicks off the high season,” Flores said. “We also want to incorporate the ‘Dia de Los Muertos’ celebration to our festival.”
Slated for Oct. 26-30, the five-day foodie fete will flow from a welcome Champagne reception to a gala dinner with after party. Throughout the event, guests are privy to gastronomical experiences via seminars on tequila crafting, wine/cheese pairings and salsa making. An Ocean-to-Table class will focus on aguachiles, tiraditos and ceviches, while beach barbecues will dazzle with food stations showcasing cuisine prepared by master chefs.
Joining the resort’s new executive chef, Gustavo Pinet, The Art of Taste’s 2016 guest chef lineup will include Sonya Cote — owner and executive chef of Hillside Farmacy, Eden East and Cote Catering in Austin, TX; Dakota Weiss — executive chef at the Sunset Strip’s new Estrella and Sweetfin Poke in Santa Monica, CA; and
Richard Reddington — executive chef at Redd and Redd Wood in Yountville, CA. An international roster of sommeliers will provide a spirited edge.
Flores noted that festival attendees must be staying onsite during the event. “In order to foster an intimate culinary conversation, only 140 tickets to The Art of Taste will be sold,” he said. A four-night package will be available from an average daily rate of $1,140 USD plus tax and service per room. “Guests who book before July 31 will receive a complimentary four-course dinner for two at El Farallon of the day’s freshest catch, accompanied by a special wine selection from Encinillas Winery,” Flores said.
