Yucatán, Mexico is known for its beautiful beaches, but also for its historical archeological sites that are must-sees for travelers, including Mayan ruins as well as Ek Balam, which was considered the seat of a Mayan kingdom. You can also find Uxmal in Yucatán, considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites of Maya culture.
And where to stay to see all this?
The Royal Suites Yucatán by Palladium are located in an exclusive area within the Grand Palladium Resorts of Riviera Maya. If you’re traveling to the area, The Royal Suites Yucatán by Palladium is an adult-only resort with 90 Royal Junior Suites, 18 Royal Suites and 22 Royal Mayan Suites that overlook the Caribbean. Here you can relax and get pampered when you’re done touring the city. At this resort there is personalized butler service, 24-hour room service, two-person Jacuzzis, aromatherapy, and hydromassage bathtub. There is also a VIP area on the Akumal Beach with Bali beds and waiter service. The rooms have hardwood floors, DVD players and Nespresso machines.
For your dining needs, there are 10 a la carte and five buffet restaurants, as well as a whopping 26 bars where you can sip an exotic drink while you float in the water or dip your toes in the sand. There’s something for everyone here to eat, including gluten-free menus and a special program for people with allergies and intolerances. Steak lovers can chow down at El Dorado while those who like cuisine with a more Mediterranean flare can enjoy Mare Nostrum Restaurant.
Traveling Mexico wouldn’t be the same without trying an authentic burrito or Margarita shrimp and La Adelita Restaurant is the place to be. If you prefer to mangia on some pasta, Portofino Restaurant is molto bene.
The pampering continues with the Zentropía Palladium Spa & Wellness which features exercise equipment, Jacuzzi, sauna, and vapor baths. You can get one of many options for a massage to work those kinks out, a mani/pedi, and enjoy an eco-meditative cold bath.
Jump in any one of the eight pools – seven of them are freshwater, while one is a seaweed pool. Play some games, or if you’re feeling a little funky head on over to the resort’s Sunset Boulevard Discotheque. On the property you’ll also find a reading lounge, covered theatre, handcrafts market, shopping center, Internet café and bookstore.
Other activities include volleyball, archery and soccer. Even though it’s an adults-only resort, you can still find the kid in you and play PlayStation, craft some art, or build sand castles. There are tennis, basketball and paddle ball courts, a soccer pitch, as well as rifle and archery ranges.
The Yucatan is also a great place to scuba dive, snorkel, kayak, windsurf, and enjoy a trip on a catamaran.
There are so many options for everything on this resort that it will be hard to say “I’m hungry” or “I’m bored.”
