While there's a boutique hotel for every type of traveler in almost every destination, Hotels.com guests recently crowned the best of the best. Upon analyzing millions of guest reviews, Hotels.com has revealed its Loved by Guests Award winners for 2016, including the best boutique properites from around the world.
Here we'll run down the list of boutique all-stars, where guests can rest assured the list of amenities extends well beyond free Wi-Fi.
Castello di Velona SPA Resort & Winery
Where: Montalcino, Italy
Italy's Castello di Velona SPA Resort & Winery features some of the most beautiful architecture inside and out. In addition to 46 guestrooms, this boutique hotel, which resembles a castle more than a hotel, boasts a full-service spa and a pair of on-site restaurants.
Guests staying here also have access to indoor and outdoor pools as well as a health club.
Hotel L'Orologio
Where: Florence, Italy
The largest hotel on this list, Florence's Hotel L'Orologio features 54 guestrooms spanning four stories. Features here include colorful guestrooms, a bar and lounge, a free breakfast buffet and a fitness center.

Where: Culver City, California
This building was once owned by John Wayne and has hosted a plethora of celebrities and VIPs through the years.

The 46-room four-star hotel features many of the modern amenities guests have come to expect in 2016 without sacrificing its history and charm. Crystal chandeliers and custom furnishings and decor give the guestrooms a unique look and feel.

If you're looking for a world-class boutique hotel in the center of the action, the Anglers Hotel in South Beach is where you'll want to be.
