With loads of NBA talent descending on downtown Toronto this weekend for the league's annual All-Star event, local hotels are gearing up to welcome a unique clientele.
Toronto's Thompson Hotel is taking those preparations to the next level, though, offering 5XL bathrobes and oversized slippers upon request, the Toronto Star reported.
The 102-room boutique hotel — which has been completely rented out by the National Basketball Players Association through Sunday — is set to host a handful of NBA stars this weekend, and since the average player stands approximately six-feet seven-inches tall, average-size bathrobes and slippers just won't do.
As one might expect, a 5XL bathrobe looks less like a robe and more like a bed comforter.
"I mean, look at it," the hotel's director of marketing Frank Campo told Canada's MetroNews. "It looks like an area rug."
Meanwhile, the enormous slippers bear a close resemblance to snowshoes.
The hotel has ordered dozens of the massive bathrobes and slippers to ensure every guest is comfortable.

However the enhanced amenities at the Thompson Hotel extend well beyond post-bathtime attire. The lobby bar boasts a massive 60-square-foot media wall, while the rooftop bar has been converted to a VIP lounge fully stocked with $6,500 bottles of champagne ahead of this weekend's festivities.
Although the players are sure to appreciate the specialized amenities, they're also certain to love the Thompson Hotel's design.
"We are actually fortunate because our hotel already has high ceilings and door entrances," said Campo.
